Four new luxury hotels to open in Marbella
A MULTI-MILLION pound investment will see four new luxury hotels open in Marbella, according to Spanish media.
Foreign investors are reportedly set to plough €15 million into the developments, which will be in the historic old town centre.
Swiss and British investors from the Rhone Property group are planning to restore some of the area’s grander properties as hotels.
They plan to open a boutique hotel called ‘Maison Ardois’ – a restored, 16th Century mansion in Calle Ancha; the former home of Dr Maiz Vinals in Plaza Puente de Ronda; an old, four-storey Plaza del Santo Cristo house and ‘Hotel El Castillo’ – a building inside the castle walls, according to reports.
The four buildings are expected to have a total of 50 rooms and cater for 105 guests.
The Calle Ancha and Plaza de Santo Cristo buildings could be ready by early next month.
Miguel Cerván, the chief executive of Rhône Property, told Spanish press: “They wanted places which would enable clients to discover the real Marbella, the traditional, typical town which few people really know.
“The investors who come to Marbella are looking for something special. They are aware that tourists’ tastes are changing.”
