Open House New York 2022 is an annual weekend-long, free event during which historic buildings, architectural masterpieces, sundry landmarks and the best New York attractions welcome the public to nose around.

This year’s extravaganza celebrates 20 years of “unlocking” the city with an expanded mission to promote citywide access to all New Yorkers. To this effect, OHNY is doing its first-ever open call, meaning individuals and organizations can apply to be a part of OHNY this year.

The weekend will feature a hybrid of virtual experiences and outdoor self-guided explorations like digital sneak peeks and crowdless elevator rides in single rooms, studios, factories, and public spaces such as entire buildings, blocks, bike corridors, and waterways.

As one of the best NYC events this fall, it’s the perfect opportunity to explore normally off-limits places in New York.
