New Development Condo Sales Soar in September with Luxury at the Fore

Market Update

Activity in New York City’s new development condo market increased 54% through the week of September 12 through 18, bouncing back from the annual Labor Day dip. Developers reported 60 contracts across the city: Manhattan had 23 contracts (+21%), Brooklyn had 30 (+100%) and Queens had 7 (+40%). 

The luxury tier gained momentum with nine contracts reported above $4,000,000, up from two previously. Read more

Spain attracts 15.6 billion euros in foreign investment in the first half of 2022

Manhattan luxury contracts ticked up as Dow plummeted

During one of Wall Street’s lousiest weeks of the year, a series of deals elsewhere in Manhattan last week marked a bounceback in the borough’s luxury market.

When the Dow plummeted 1,276 points Tuesday, four contracts priced at $4 million and above were signed, according to Olshan Realty’s weekly report. As the Dow continued to slide further during the week, three more were signed on Wednesday, another five on Thursday and four on Friday.
